PRIVACY POLICY
In short: ContextCraft converts your files on your device. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share your files or personal information. The app has no internet permission, no accounts, no ads and no analytics.
Who we are
ContextCraft (package com.honilusion.contextcraft) is an Android app published by Honilusion ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with data when you use it.
Information we collect
None. We do not operate any server that the app talks to, and the app does not request the Android INTERNET permission, so it cannot send data over the network. We do not receive your files, the converted text, your device identifiers, your location or any usage data.
ContextCraft has no user accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no analytics, crash-reporting or tracking libraries.
How your files are processed
- You choose files with the Android file picker, or send them to the app through the Android share sheet (Share → ContextCraft). The app reads only the files you select or share.
- Conversion to Markdown, including OCR for scanned PDFs and images, runs entirely on your device. Text recognition uses a Google ML Kit model that is bundled inside the app, so it works offline and does not send images or text to Google.
- The app does not ask for storage, camera, microphone, contacts or location permissions.
Data stored on your device
ContextCraft keeps a conversion history of your last 50 conversions (for example file name, format, size, time and converted text) so you can reopen them. This history lives only in the app's private storage on your device. You can remove single entries or use Clear all in the History screen at any time. App backup is disabled, so this data is not included in Android cloud backups. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Sharing that you initiate
The app only shares data when you tell it to. If you use Copy, Save .md or Share, the Markdown output goes to the clipboard, to the location you pick, or to the app you choose (such as Claude, ChatGPT or another app) through Android's standard share mechanisms. Once content reaches another app, that app's own privacy policy applies; ContextCraft has no control over it.
To show whether Claude or ChatGPT is installed in the share sheet, the app checks locally for those app packages. This check never leaves your device.
Third-party services
ContextCraft uses open-source and platform libraries to read documents (such as PdfBox-Android) and to recognize text (Google ML Kit, bundled model). These run inside the app on your device. We do not integrate third-party services that receive your data.
Children's privacy
ContextCraft is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we also collect none from children.
Your choices and rights
Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. You control everything stored by the app: delete history entries inside the app, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall it.
Security
Your documents stay in the app's sandbox on your device and are protected by Android's own app isolation and your device's screen lock and encryption. No data is transmitted by the app, which removes the main risk of data in transit.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, for example if a future version adds network features, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change ships.
